Help using MyConfession.com

MyConfession allows you to upload video material straight from your computer desktop. We accept video files produced by most video cams. You should check that the file you are going to upload conforms to the following.

• Generic AVI encoded files - MPEG2 or MPG, MPEG4 or MP4 and DIVX
• The upload size should be less than 50Mb so check before you upload
• Unless your video is a perfect "shoot" and ready for upload, use an editing software on your computer to reduce the video to the part which "tells the story" and which will be interesting to viewers.
• Try to ensure your videos are well shot with good lighting with an easy to hear soundtrack. If you can shoot it several times and choose the best take for editing and upload.
• When preparing your movie make sure the first frame or start of the movie will be representative of the content. This frame is displayed on the site as a thumbnail image to help users choose your movie. Avoid a blank or black start to your movie for this reason.
• The frame rate will be reduced to 15 fps so we would recommend your frame rate matches this for the longest playing time. 25fps and 30fps frame rates will be reduced to 15 fps.
• The content should not contravene national or international laws. We preview the videos and will not show material we consider contravenes these laws.

What you must do to upload:

• If you have not already registered at the site you must register to be able to upload videos.
• Please remember your login as you will need it to upload more videos to your account in the future.
• Prepare your video file according to the guidelines above and have it ready on your computer desktop or in a known folder.
• If you have just registered you will be automatically logged in otherwise login using your username and password.
• Click the menu item "Upload a Confession".
• Add the title and description to the video.
• Use the browse button to locate the video file on your computer.
• Select a category which best fits your video.
• Then click "UPLOAD"
• You will see a progress bar whilst the file is uploaded.
• Do not interrupt the upload or conversion process if you want it to complete successfully.
• If the upload or conversion fails reformat your file to conform to the file format guide above.
• Close the dialogue using the top left closer (X).
• Your video may take some hours to appear on the site as it will be previewed by the MyConfession team.
